After taking a short break, Rucktion Records have regrouped and now come storming back for 2026 with ‘Life Will Kill’, the debut release by London’s AGENCY. Six tracks of explosively heavy and dynamic hardcore mixing speed, groove, technicality and raw passion.
 
Exploding on to the scene with little warning, ‘Life Will Kill’ is an unbelievably accomplished debut. The combination of deeply personal lyrics and catchy, original, well thought-out arrangements creates a sheen of quality and many atmospheric and memorable moments. Traditional bursts of speed draw the listener in, choppy bouncy riffing give the tracks that distinctive London edge, and clever structuring makes for a refreshing take on the saturated heavy hardcore genre.
 
The overall effect brings to mind discovering favourite tracks on a long-forgotten 90s compilation, and the thirst to hear more and find out more. A fitting comparison for AGENCY’s sound and sudden appearance.
 
Lyrical themes of loss, sadness and hopelessness dominate ‘Life Will Kill’. Honest, heartfelt, direct and to the point but not simplified. Sometimes bleak and angry, sometimes defiant like in ‘Mourning’. The epic closer ‘Severed Hands’ perfectly encapsulates AGENCY’s vision.
 
AGENCY is defined as ‘the capacity of individuals to have the power and resources to fulfil their potential’. The creativity and drive displayed on ‘Life Will Kill’ demonstrates that power and resources are something this band are not short of.
