Ambush

New brutal UKHC from members of Special Move, Taking Names, Six Ft Ditch, BDF, 50 Caliber, Maldito, Beg For Mercy, Awoken and Eviscerate AD. Long-awaited debut cd "Forward Into Hell" is now out on Rucktion! Brand new lineup now active and booking shows! On a cold night in Spring 2007, AMBUSH was born on a London backstreet. At this stage there was no plan, other than to come up with some heavy-as-lead hardcore. No pretences. No nonsense. No prisoners. Experience spoke for itself with the heads involved: Scott Move (Special Move), Peachey (Six Ft Ditch, Negative Vibez), Tub (Rough Justice, Eviscerate AD, Beg For Mercy), Trev (Taking Names) & Duncan (Six Ft. Ditch, Awoken).
The band began playing shows and honing their sound, before releasing the ‘Heavy Artillery’ demo, a rabid concoction led by slab-sized riffs and the double vocalizing of Peachey/Scott. It sold out within the space of 4 months. Well-received appearances followed at Germany’s Pressurefest and London’s Running Riot Fest, before Peachey decided to move to Sweden to continue his life of grime. Undeterred by this personnel change, AMBUSH slimmed down to a 4-piece and set about writing a debut album of mammoth proportions.
With a leaner line up came a meaner sound. As well as being strongly influenced by the musicians’ former acts, elements of thrash and even doom metal had begun to play a big part. However, make no mistake, AMBUSH definitely remains a hardcore band!
Having recently left to pursue other projects, Trev’s bass duties have been taken over by none other than Steve (BDF, 50 Caliber), increasing AMBUSH’s already impressive ‘former members’ roster.
The band themselves describe their crushing first full-length ‘Forward Into Hell’ as ‘likely to leave you feeling as if you’ve spent 31 minutes having your ears filled with concrete and your brain put through a blender’. You have been warned...

BDF

Brought together in 1999 by Pelbu Knuckledust, BDF aimed to bring a metal edge to the heavy hardcore scene in London.

Fusing elements of the metal club scene and underground hardcore scene, BDF quickly gained a following in London playing with local hardcore and metal acts as well as bigger US hardcore bands such as Madball, 25 Ta Life and Krutch.

Pelbu's deep barking voice combined with Pete's raw screams provide a double barreled vocal rape and pillage.

Musically, BDF draw upon classic and technical metal influences mixed with contemporary metalcore but maintaining a hardcore attitude and following, bringing to mind bands such as All Out War, E-Town Concrete and Irate.

Billy Club Sandwich

Formed in the mid 90's, BILLYCLUB SANDWICH play straight up raw and heavy New York Hardcore, mixing tales of personal struggle and disgust with a lighter look at life that is uniquely theirs.

These Bronx veterans draw plenty of influence from their neighbourhood, throwing in influences as different as thrash, hip hop and even merengue into the mix yet always tying them to an unmistakable NYHC stomp and groove. Equally competent at the traditional and the original, BCS move effortlessly between crazed blasting bursts of speed and ridiculously heavy beatdowns.

While they are more than capable of delivering a raging primal slab of HC, the creative and playful side of the band in their approach to song structures and subjects is equally evident throughout their releases. This fresh approach and BCS's mix of Spanish and English lyrics have won them respect far beyond their roots, including interest (as well as tourin gopportunities) in Puerto Rico, Europe, Japan and beyond.
Harsh, frantic playing and unbelievably harsh vocals are all too common in Hardcore these days - the refreshing and original approach BCS bring to the modern hardcore scene is sure to shatter misconceptions and vent frustrations, through both righteous anger and off kilter humour.

Cardiff, UK’s CHAINS OF HATE. Formed in 2007, this Welsh 5 piece are bringing the hard back into

The members of CHAINS OF HATE are no strangers to the UKHC scene, having played in bands
such as TWIST THE KNIFE, and also legendary 90’s hardcore mob PUBLIC DISTURBANCE. If you’re

Deathskulls

Deathskulls formed early 2003 in Southend, Essex and set out to play their style of Old Skool Hardcore mixed in with a bit of Oi! for good measure; taking such bands as Negative Approach and Bonecrusher as influences. Since 2003 Deathskulls have played up and down the UK anywhere from pubs, clubs, squats to backyards. In 2006 they did a 5 date mini tour of Sweden. In their time they have played with Hardcore greats Murphy’s Law and MDC. Deathskulls have had several releases including 3 split 7’’s, split CD, CD EP, and a CD album. Diction

With a solid line-up for over 10 years now, Diction have developed into a fearsome live presence, having played with the likes of Shattered Realm, Everybody Gets Hurt and Krutch.

Mixing traditional old-school NYHC, mosh and metalcore elements, a little bit of London flavour, and a unique blend of 6 and 7-string guitars, Diction have cultivated a distinct, abrasive and memorable sound.

Their debut release 'Escalating Unholy War' (a 4-way split with Freebase, Set Against and Eviscerate AD) on Unity Worldwide Recordings, documents the early development of this sound, which was fully realised when the band unleashed their material on the Ninebar/Diction/Kartel South London split CD and their debut full length 'From the depths'.

Divide

No recycled band logos or self-conscious posturing from these fuckers - with seven years of experience under their belts, Divide's honest, passionate melodic yet hard style is a breath of fresh air in today's oversaturated scene. Madball, Sick of it All or On The Rise are all valid comparisons, but this is no cloning of a winning formula, as more than enough of Divide's personality and soul shines through their music to convince the listener that this lot really fucking mean it.
Positive without coming off as sappy, and angry, but not just for the sake of it, their debut release 'When all else fails' simply drips with heart-felt sincerity. Divide have been too long the UK's best kept secret...

Hellbent Diehard

Rising from the ashes of Croydon metalcore unit Downtrodden, Hellbent Diehard contains members of Ninebar, Diction and Last Hours of Torment. They can only really be described as one of the most original bands to emerge from the London scene in recent times. The group have proved themselves impossible to categorize, playing an inspired hybrid of hardcore, punk, rock, metal, and post-hardcore. This melting pot of technicality and brutality is definitely kept on the hardcore side of things by Chris's clear, unmistakably London-accented vocals and the ferocious yet focused speed and power of the music.

With its high level of musicianship, each instrument in Hellbent Diehard's arsenal comes into its own, as straight-up speed and danceable brutality mix with intricate, technical interludes to devastating effect. There is something here for fans of numerous genres to appreciate, but look no further than this band for a truly unique and fresh approach to heavy music.

Injury Time

Injury Time was a nameless project for a couple of years. Matty Nine Bar and DBS from Kartel were looking to play some good old fashioned hardcore the way they like it: fast parts, breakdowns, solos and mean vocals. With a line-up recruited from London punks 17 Stitches following their demise, the stage was set for some classic hardcore punk to take shape, mixing in heavier elements, DBS's unmistakable gruff voice and some catchy as hell guitar leads. The band switches effortlessly between catchy and driving sing-alongs, and darker, heavier bursts of speed and heaviness, demonstrating their depth and variety. Injury Time are no one-trick-ponies looking to ape one style in particular - they aspire to create their own. Kartel

With a predominantly South London based line-up, Kartel possess a brutal urban groove which viciously pounds through their songs. Knuckledust

Certainly the biggest straight up hardcore band in the UK today, Knuckledust has been together since 1995, maintaining the same line-up and never straying from their pounding sound and attitude.
Arguably one of the main catalysts for the London scene that still thrives to this day, members have also contributed to bands such as BDF, Maldito, NineBar, Deadline, The Business, Argy Bargy and Bun Dem Out.
They have played with many big names such as Hatebreed, 25 Ta Life, Krutch, Agnostic Front, Biohazard etc. and also toured the UK as support to Madball and Most Precious Blood and all over Europe with Shattered Realm etc.
Comparable to numerous bands such as Sworn Enemy, Blood For Blood, Bulldoze and Sheer Terror yet with their own distinctive London way of doing things their second full length 'Universal Struggle' on Gangstyle records will definitely increase their standing on the international scene and they will rise and rise. Ninebar

Nine Bar, London's premier and undeniably influential beatdown hardcore band, have over 10 years of experience playing shows up and down the UK and overseas.

Over the last decade of demos, appearances on comps, splits and MCDs, the band have steadily evolved and progressed whilst remaining true to their initial sledgehammer sound. Heavy yet not overly metallic, with forays into speed and melody, Nine Bar are never afraid to step outside of their roots in beatdown hardcore and explore other genres, always concentrating on tunes and structures rather than crowd pleasing, repetitive chugga-chugga.

TB and Fat Tom's consistently original vocals and lyrics retain the venomous hate that has been a constant theme of their song writing, yet have diversified into other topics. Well established in their home town, Nine Bar nevertheless give the same ferocious and explosive live performance wherever they go.

Providence

Formed in 2005, Providence come from the depths of filthy Paris and play dark and brutal hardcore, full of crushing breakdowns.
Since their beginning the band sought to innovate rather than imitate, intending to create a combination of social/political awareness and aggression.

Feeling that hardcore had strayed from its roots and DIY ethic into subgenres like Emo and Chaotic Metal, a good, basic, heavy sound is their aim. Providence’s style is huge, metallic and epic, yet manages to be efficient and straight up at the same time. A low and thick dual guitar sound is underpinned by intense double-bass drumming, mostly switching between mid-tempo and punishing breakdowns but occasionally breaking into full-on bursts of hardcore speed.
The hoarse-growled vocals that complete this already potent formula are complimented by monstrous gang backups, spitting out venom on a variety of topics including politics, economy and the craziness of the world, yet maintaining a poetic turn of phrase.

Providence’s violent and energetic live shows, to-the-point music and thought provoking, bleak, reflective lyrics never fail to impress live audiences. With the quintet always eager to hit the road, their fanbase is constantly expanding outside of their city and country, forging a blazing path of hardcore force and brutality that France hasn’t produced in quite some time. Prowler

North London heavyweights PROWLER have been notorious for an ultra heavy blend of hardcore and metal for a long time. Their explosive live performances, filled with plenty of crowd participation on the dancefloor, never fail to turn heads and convert new followers. Formed in 2002, the band’s early sets on their home turf at The Swan, a legendary North London hardcore venue from that era, earned them plenty of praise for the tightness and ferocity that they displayed. PROWLER’s volatile mix of straight to the point full-throttle hardcore and immensely heavy metallic riffing is certainly not rare these days, but through the brutality shines a band with an unmistakable talent for memorable tunes and fresh structures, rather than the predictable ‘chug chug’ of many current acts. Testimony to their abilities is the fact that many of their tunes became instant crowd favourites long before being actually recorded. Despite numerous ups and downs within the band, PROWLER have never lost their passion and drive. They continue to excel at creating brutal yet intense and energetic hardcore, delivered with a distictly London twist that gives them their own unique personality.

Six Ft Ditch

Formed from the ashes of Bogmonsta, Portsmouth's Six Ft Ditch are fronted by Peachey, a regular fixture in the UKHC scene since day one.
With Sparky on Guitars, Tony on drums and Craw on the bass, this band gets just and better. With member based in Portsmouth, London and Liverpool this band really is UKHC.
Their "Unlicensed Cemetary" new album is a blistering attack of heavy hardcore reality in the vein of Bulldoze, Hatebreed, Shattered Realm or Second to None. Straight up pounding no frills hardcore with hateful, murderous lyrics.
Having become mainstays in their local punk and hardcore scene, the Ditch never fail to create pit frenzy whenever they play London, maintaining a solid bond with the LBU/Rucktion Familia.

Special Move

The origins of UK Hardcore veterans SPECIAL MOVE date back to the mid 1990's, and with barely any fluctuation in line-up the band had previously been together in other projects DANGER OFDEATH and UP AGAINST IT, releasing demos and playing live with other early UKHC acts such as KNUCKLEDUST and STAMPIN GROUND.

It was in 2000 that the band released their classic debut MCD, 'Dark Overlord', and they have been consistantly recording and playing out ever since, diversifying and adding a second guitarist to the mix yet always retaining the original primal passion of their early days. Along the way the band have added numerous extra elements to their music, nowadays bringing touches of thrash and classic metal into the mix alongside their basis in raw beatdown hardcore punk.

Over the years SPECIAL MOVE have consistantly brought plenty of their own personality and pride in their Essex roots into their music, and while their influences are obvious, the twist they put on them is entirely their own. The blood, sweat and dedication that the band has invested shine through in every furious live performance, and prove that rather than resting on their laurels SPECIAL MOVE constantly move ahead on their own terms.

Stout

Formed in 1997, Baltimore USA's Stout continue the fine tradition of distinctive choppy, brutal hardcore that has come from that city.

Drawing on a wide range of influences, Stout manages to be incredibly heavy yet diverse. They move effortlessly from fast straight up style HC to brutal beatdowns, and menacing, dirge-like hymns of hate and revenge.

As if this wasn't enough, their apocalyptic onslaught is topped off with some of the most unique lyrical content and vocal delivery, courtesy of TAD, who is also one of the scariest looking motherfuckers whilst onstage, spitting out bitter tales of betrayal, murder and straight up insanity. The only thing left to say is that mere words do little to describe the unrelenting fury that Stout unleashes. The last word in heavy hardcore? We think so.

Surge Of Fury

Formed in Liege, Belgium, back in 1997, SURGE OF FURY first came together with no other aims apart from to enjoy playing together. Over a decade later, through line-up changes and various releases, the band have never strayed from the path they have chosen, and never will. Not motivated by fame, money or anything other than the passion they feel, not swayed by criticism or seeking anyone's approval, SURGE OF FURY have only ever followed their own hearts. Although the band's roots and influences in heavy, aggressive hardcore are obvious, their approach to song writing is anything but - SURGE OF FURY's arrangements are far from typical, and always capable of keeping listeners on their toes with the way an ultra heavy, double-bass driven dance part can clobber you out of nowhere, or the fresh and imaginative twist they add to the standard hardcore song structure. Nevertheless, there is plenty in their music to prove that the band also excel at creating straight up raging ultra fast hardcore, with harsh bellowed vocals and furious group backups. With their combination of fast, manic energy and off kilter staccato heaviness, it's clear that SURGE OF FURY have sought to innovate rather than clone anything that has come before them. Honed into a tight and experienced unit by years of playing together across Europe, the band remain bonded together by the music they love, and have seen many come and go while they have continued to hold true.

Taking Names

Taking Names mix influences such as Buried Alive, Shockwave, Bane and Terror into their own brand of positive, fast paced and relentless hardcore. It's easy to hear the impression left on these guys by a host of other US bands. But in true London style, these boys bring it together in their own way. Heavy breakdowns, two-steps and big sing-a-longs are never far away, this band is all about energy, honesty and passion both live and on record.

TRC

TRC are an 8 man wrecking machine from North West London, formed in the spring of 2003. Drawing on influences from all over and combining harsh, street influenced hatecore with strict underground UK hip hop, they have a sound like no other.

Recent line-up changes, including drummer Chris Tyson switching to vocals, and the addition of Taking Names drummer Matt and Bun Dem Out guitarist Charlie have not dented their hard-hitting and furious live onslaught. Featuring 3 singers and some spitting courtesy of AC, which never fails to ignite the crowd and gain them attention, this is far more than your run-of-the-mill played out rapcore.

With a far more to-the-point delivery than their contemporaries, and uniquely arrogant attitude and subject matter, TRC breathe new life into a genre that is difficult to excel at, and have created a distinctive identity and a sound that is sure to bring chaos to dance floors far and wide.

True Valiance

Formed in late 2006, Bristol's TRUE VALIANCE have come a long way from their origins as a group of friends playing covers and trying to kickstart a hardcore scene in their city. Having now built a strong local following and taken their energetic and passionate live set around the UK and beyond, this band is hungry to get back out there as much as possible. TRUE VALIANCE's style could be best described as mosh meets melody and message, taking Catch them live in their home town if possible - the band puts everything into their performance, and the crazed reaction of the crowd is not to be missed - but wherever they go TRUE VALIANCE bring the same devotion and dedication to the music they love, and are determined to continue down this path for as long as possible.influences from 90's metallic hardcore but adding in a more modern ferocity and some lighter, more uplifting moments of melodic sincerity. Tight musicianship welds these apparently incompatible elements together, and with a singer also capable of bridging the gap between these styles it is easy to see how TRUE VALIANCE can share bills with a diverse array of bands yet provoke the same reaction. Lyrics range from heartfelt, positive and forward-looking to furious and vengeful hatred for authority and other oppressors.

Wisdom In Chains

Wisdom In Chains was started a few years back with members from America and Europe.
Maarten, a guitar player from Holland in a band called Daredevil made the call to Richie and Mad Joe who where in Krutch at the time. Maarten had the idea to start an old school band, with heavy punk and Oi influences. The three met while Krutch was on tour in Europe.
The plans where made and Maarten came to the USA to record. The group released a self entitled CD on Gangstyle Records. Only one show was ever performed by the group due to the extreme distance between the members.
Eventually Maarten who was a key writer in the band would convince Richie and Joe to find local members and keep this band going. So they recruited local guitar star and just crazy motherfucker in general Tony Meltdown. Tony was in a band called The Ninth Plague and basically shreds on the guitar. Shannon Sparky was brought in on drums, he was a logical choice. Shannon also played with Richie and Mad Joe in another band called Out To Win (aka MUSHMOUTH). The search was on for the bass player, and the only guy that could jam with these cats was Big Show Greg, a local trouble maker and drunk.
The new line-up was complete and now the band is hitting the highways and playing killer street rock with heavy old school HC and OI influence.
The members of this band have played and toured with other bands like Krutch, FCK, The Ninth Plague, Boxcutter, Out To Win, Feeble and others, they are no new jack fuckos. They paid their dues and they do this music shit well.

Rucktion Records are extremely proud to welcome UK's DEATHSKULLS to the label with their second full-length recording "THE REAL DEAL II", 15 tracks of ultra-fast vicious hardcore punk mayhem, with a style and attitude all of its own. At the core of the DEATHSKULLS sound is an all-out thrash assault reminiscent of many a classic 80's hardcore act. Drummer Niky's furious skin pounding is perfectly matched by lightening-speed guitar riffs that stop and start in an instant, bludgeoning the listener round the head with several tunes barely reaching a minute long. However, plenty of other tracks prove that the band can expand on their formula, and are equally adept at slowing things down and playing some classic shout-along UK punk/oi!, as well as adding heavier elements of a more modern hardcore groove, and even some doom-laden riffing to their songs.

"900" sees NineBar blend elements of speed and pounding heaviness with melody and groove, combining their trademark sledgehammer style with occasional rock, punk and metal influences, whilst retaining plenty of the chugging brutality and crushing breakdowns that have brought chaos to dancefloors around the UK and beyond!

We at Rucktion have nothing to do with any upcoming allday Hardcore shows except our Official monthly 12bar club night at present.

To sum up, Rucktion has nothing to do with any all day festivals coming up in London and will not support or tolerate anyone who lies to benefit their own agenda.

PROVIDENCE "Time For Grievance tour" starts next week! They'll be on the road to promote their new seven from 16th to 27th Februay 2011, going through France, Belgium, Germany and Poland. Check the shows section for dates and flyers.

The Parisian touring machine will next be hitting Brazil, for a few dates with Norte Cartel (members of Confronto) in April 2011. More details soon.

We're obviously trying to get them to come over to the UK again for a few dates. Watch this space...
